Frequently Asked Questions
Will Exceptioneer interfere with my own error handling?
No, not at all, Exceptioneer fires at the same time as your error handling and
will run side by side without any problems.
I run my ASP.NET applications in Medium trust, can I still use Exceptioneer?
No, we use WCF to transmit the details back to our central system and this doesn't work in Medium trust, you must run in High trust.
Can I use Exceptioneer in my Classic ASP 3.0 applications?
Not currently, we’re considering this as a future development.
Will Exceptioneer impact performance on my server?
We’ve worked very hard to keep the overhead of Exceptioneer to a minimal. We’re
pleased to say you should not notice any different in server performance with
Exceptioneer installed!
Do I have to recompile my applications?
Absolutely not! You can add, configure and remove Exceptioneer without ever even
opening Visual Studio. Implementation is as easy as placing a dll into your bin
folder and then adding the correct configuration to your web.config.
You can make the change directly on your Web Servers* if you wish!
*You really should test it somewhere safe first though ... as we developers say – it works on our computers ...
Why is Exceptioneer free?
We can offer a free version of Exceptioneer as we’ll be supporting it with paid
versions that have enhanced features.
When will platform support be added for Windows Forms and the other .NET Stack
items?
We’ll be adding support in the coming weeks and months, keep an eye on the
Exceptioneer blog or subscribe to our newsletter to be updated when we add new
features and functionality.
